Today we went to the Seventh Annual Wellfleet OysterFest. Our arrival coincided wth the Shuck-Off contest.

Shuckoff

Oysters on the half shell were the first snack we ate, lumpia (spring rolls) were also consumed. The crowd was really big by the time we were ready to leave.

After the awesome OysterFest, we decided the situation demanded a quick two hour trip to Herring Cove Beach in P’town to cast a few plugs at sunset. Here are two pics from the end of the Cape.

Looking towards Race Point Light over Hatches Harbor. The sunset was beautiful as we walked back to the car.

We caught no fish though!

Today was fantastic. The fishing was slow on the Outer Cape Cod beaches. Actually from all the Cape beaches. The rain ended at about 12:45pm. Following the advice of the sage salesmen at the Goose Hummock shop, we ventured up to Truro to ply the fishing arts yet again. The water was about 63 degrees in the Atlantic Ocean. Sunshine was hit or miss after the rain ended, as you can see from the picture below.

We caught one 20″ striped bass, one 3# bluefish, and the spiny dogfish pictured below

What day of fishing is not complete without an attempt at art. Atlantic beaches are a lot like art.
